Retroreflective tape. The night performance. Glass-bead tape is economical; segmented and prismatic tapes are brighter and more flexible. We match the tape grade to your required wash count so it does not go dull after a month.

Tape configuration = class. Two horizontal bands make Class 2; add vertical braces over the shoulders and you reach Class 3. The layout is a compliance decision, not decoration.

Closure. Hook-and-loop for quick on/off and one-size fit; a heavy-duty zip for a secure surveyor fit. Both are specified deliberately for the job.

The standards, in depth

Understanding hi-vis standards — EN, ANSI, AS/NZS & EAC

A hi-vis vest is a regulated safety product, and the regulation is not the same everywhere. Understanding the framework for your market is what keeps an order out of customs trouble and a worker genuinely protected. Here is what each standard actually asks for.

EN ISO 20471 — the European (and widely adopted) standard

EN ISO 20471 is the international standard for high-visibility clothing intended for professional use, and it is referenced far beyond Europe — across the United Kingdom, much of Africa, the Middle East and parts of Asia. It classifies a garment into one of three classes according to the minimum area of two things: fluorescent background material and retroreflective tape. Class 3 requires the most visible material — at least 0.80 m² of background and 0.20 m² of tape for an adult garment — and offers the highest conspicuity; Class 2 requires 0.50 m² of background and 0.13 m² of tape; Class 1 the least. Crucially, a vest reaches its class through design as well as area: the reflective bands must encircle the torso, and Class 3 typically requires bands over the shoulders (braces) or sleeves. The standard also sets minimum photometric performance for the reflective material and requires that performance be retained after a stated number of wash cycles. A vest that carries the fluorescent fabric but too little tape, or the right area in the wrong layout, does not meet the class it claims — which is exactly why the specification, not the appearance, decides compliance.

ANSI/ISEA 107 — the North American standard

In the United States and Canada, high-visibility apparel is governed by ANSI/ISEA 107. Rather than three simple classes, it uses a combination of Type and Performance Class. Type O (Off-road) is for workers not exposed to public traffic; Type R (Roadway) is for workers exposed to roadway rights-of-way and temporary traffic control zones; and Type P (Public Safety) is for police, fire and emergency responders who need cut-outs and access for equipment such as body armour and duty belts. Performance Class 2 and Class 3 describe increasing amounts of background and reflective material, while a supplemental Class E covers items such as trousers and gaiters that are compliant only when worn with a Class 2 or 3 top. A vest sold into North America should be labelled to the current ANSI/ISEA 107 revision with its Type and Class stated clearly — the equivalent of, but not interchangeable with, an EN class.

AS/NZS 4602.1, EAC and other frameworks

Australia and New Zealand enforce AS/NZS 4602.1, which classifies garments by intended use: class D for daytime use (fluorescent material only), class N for night-time use (retroreflective material), and class D/N for both. The intense southern-hemisphere sun makes UV-stable fluorescent fabric a genuine requirement there. For the Eurasian Economic Union — Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and neighbours — protective clothing must carry EAC marking under the relevant technical regulation (commonly referenced as TR CU / TR EAEU), and the severe winter changes the garment itself, since the vest must fit over heavy cold-weather layers. Individual countries and large buyers may also reference their own national norms; the practical rule is simple — tell us the destination, and we build and document to the framework that market recognises.

How long is production and delivery?
Typically 7–35 days production depending on quantity, customization and certification, plus sea-freight transit. Air and express are available for samples and urgent orders.
Which standard applies in my country?
EN ISO 20471 for the EU/UK and much of Africa and the Middle East, ANSI/ISEA 107 for North America and Latin America, AS/NZS 4602 for Australia and New Zealand, and EAC for the Eurasian Economic Union. Tell us the destination and we quote to the right one.
