1. Preparation

  • Equipment Needed:
    • Bunsen burner or portable flame source: For testing flame resistance.
    • Thermal sensor or thermocouples: To measure heat transfer through the fabric.
    • Metal tongs: To handle fabric samples.
    • Stopwatch: For timing flame exposure and after-flame duration.
    • Protective gear: Gloves, safety glasses, and flame-retardant clothing for testers.
    • Test samples: Prepare fabric samples or use sections of the actual garments.

2. Vertical Flame Test
